MOTIVATION

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?!?!

Everyone is motivated by something different. My motivation happens to come from a struggle; watching a struggle, just like most people. Watching a single mother go through hell and back to raise three children will do it to you. Wondering how she overcame so many obstacles to provide for her children, watching her struggle to keep her children happy, and wanting to be able to provide for her the same way she has been providing for you. I am motivated by wanting to be better; continuing to do better; and ultimately to be great. I always try to go the extra mile and push myself to do better or to stay on track because I can get lazy at times. I'm human, we all get lazy at times. I write because of the passion I have for it. I used to write in my journal, many different stories, entries pertaining to different situations, etc. Many of you don't know this but I have always been a great writer (as told by other people lol), I just finally decided to express it with everyone. I figured if I publish my blogs and entries I may be able to speak (figuratively) to people through my writings. For the most part I think my blogs can help others in ways I can't imagine. I feel like I write about topics and situations that are very current in different generations. I believe my motive is a little bit of intrinsic and extrinsic. Meaning my motives comes from within as well as externally. I want to know what motivates you! Where does your motivation come from?

Like I said earlier, every one of us are motivated by different chattels. Whether the motive comes from watching/seeing a struggle, providing for your family, recognition, independence, etc, we all have a reason for why we go the extra mile. Many of you may not know this but there are two main types of motivation. Intrinsic motivation: Individual motivation stimuli comes from within. They desire to perform the task because the results in accordance to their belief system or it fulfills their desire. Deep rooted desires have the highest motivational power. Acceptance- need to feel like we or out decisions are accepted Curiosity- the desire to know or be in the know Honor- need to respect the rules and be ethical Independence- the need to feel unique Order- sense of organization; being organized Power- desire to have influence upon others Social Contact- social interactions Social Status- desire to feel important Extrinsic motivation: Individuals motivations stimuli comes from outside (external). The desire to perform is controlled by an outside source. Even though the stimuli comes from the outside, the result performing the task will still be rewarding for the individual. Money- bonuses; increase in pay because of your hard work Desires- need to be the best out of everyone Helping Others- the satisfaction of knowing you were a helping hand Power and Fame- desire to have influence upon others; desire to be known Recognition- need to be noticed; accomplishments to be noticed by others The Passion- desire to continue achieving your goals because of the affection it brings

What is your motive? What motivates you to get out of the bed every morning to go to wok or hustle? Do you stay motivated throughout the day, let alone the week? Here's a few ways to stay motivated! STAY POSITIVE- We usually get sidetracked or begin to procrastinate, especially, when we are in a bad mood. Emotions usually tend to maneuver our movement whether we recognize it or not. HOW TO STAY OPTIMISTIC- You can take notes or monitor your progress as you complete goals. Go out and celebrate your success whether its big or small. Give yourself a reason to accomplish more goals. ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS- Stay persistent with your goals. You should always be doing something that contributes to your goal no matter how big the contribution is. Persist to keep effort towards the goal at hand.

I know there can be times where you absolutely want to give up and put aside your goals for the time being but you can't. You have to remain dedicated to what ever it is that your are pursuing. Convert the negative energy into something completely positive and stay focused! There's so many obstacles we have to go through in order to be successful. Those same obstacles are the reason you'll be great. Everyone goes through trials and tribulations. You must learn the struggle, master it, and conquer it. Greatness doesn't come overnight and it damn sure isn't given, even when you think it is. You might think you're the only one struggling or going through mishaps, but let me tell you and let's keep it real guys, we all find ourselves facing struggles time after time. It may not be everyday that you find yourself struggling but it happens and all that matters is how you "bounce back" from it. Go harder, grind harder!

Invictus By: William E. Henry Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever Gods may be, For my Unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance, I have not winced or cried aloud, Under the bludgeoning of chance, My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears, Looms but the Horror of Shade, And yet the menace of the years, Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How changed with punishment the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the Captain of my Soul.

William E. Henry spoke so much volume in this poem and I hope it helps you the way it helps me. This poem is to remind you that no matter what occurs in your life, YOU control what is to happen next.
